How to connect to Wi-Fi

Connect your bedside clock to your home Wi-Fi in order to use features such as Automatic Date & Time setup, updating firmware, and connecting to smart homes.

Initial setup

Your clock has its own Wi-Fi that it uses to do the initial setup. Go to your Wi-Fi settings on your phone, tablet, or computer and look for "Habity setup_01234" and connect to the Wi-Fi.

NOTE

Can't see the Wi-Fi name? If you don't see the Wi-Fi name make sure that your clock is connected to power and Wi-Fi is enabled on your bedside clock.

Go to "More" > "Wi-Fi" > "Settings" and check that "Wi-Fi is on".

Connect to your Wi-Fi

Once connected to the clock's own Wi-Fi go to "More" > "Wi-Fi" > "Information" to see the web URL you need to visit in your browser. It will be something like "habity.local" or https://192.168.4.1

On this webpage you can see a list of available Wi-Fi networks. Select your home Wi-Fi and enter its password and press "Save & reboot".

NOTE

The Habity bedside clock can only connect to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Most common home Wi-Fi should be accepted by default.

Web control

Once your clock has rebooted, and Wi-Fi credentials were correct and successfully connected, you may visit the web control site.

On the web control site you can update the firmware, see current firmware version, connect to smart homes, and update Wi-Fi settings.

Go to "More" > "Wi-Fi" > "Information" to see the URL of your new web control site.

NOTE

Web browser warning Your web browser might warn you about visiting the website. This happens because your clock doesn't talk to any remote servers that your browser can use to verify the origin with - keeping things private, but your browser gets confused.

Most browsers have the option to "Visit anyway" or "Visit unsafe website" to bypass this warning.
